Visit to The Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA)

All members are cordially invited to join a visit to The Hong Kong International Aviation

Academy (HKIAA), details of the visit is set out as below:

Date                :   14 July 2018 (Saturday)

Time                :   10:00 am – 12:00 am

Rendezvous    :   9:45 am at “Starbuck”

(Shop No. 5P009, level 1 of Terminal 2, Hong Kong Airport, adjacent to “Manning”)

Itinerary          :   1000hrs – 1030hrs : 30’ introduction to the

                            Airport Authority International Aviation Academy (HKIAA).

                            1030hrs – 1200hrs : go into the airport restricted area and visit the

                            Integrated Airport Center (IAC) and the co-located Airport Emergency

                            Center (AEC).

Established and managed by the Airport Authority (AA), the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA) is Hong Kong’s first civil aviation academy. It’s Vision is to establish Hong Kong’s position as a regional civil aviation training hub by providing educational programmes and practical hands-on training for the aviation industry, aiming to create a training facility for aviation professionals in Hong Kong and around the region

Participants will have a deep and thorough knowledge about the Academy and will be led into their Integrated Airport Center (IAC) in the Airport Restricted Area. The IAC is their airport daily operational center. It is also co-located with their Airport Emergency Center (AEC). The AEC is the command center where they, the Airport Authority and associated business partners, will manage a crisis taking place at the airport. Crisis would include scenarios like a Typhoon Disruption or a plane crash.
