Institute of Seatransport
The Institute of Seatransport is an academic
organisation uniting various professionals in the field of sea transport.
Founded
On the 26th October 1984
Incorporated
The Institute was incorporated as a limited
company by guarantee on 13 February 1986. In August 1995, the Institute was
granted an exemption of the use of the word "Limited" by the Hong Kong Company
Registry. This means that the Institute is a limited company , but can operate
simply as the "Institute of Seatransport".
Aims
-
to promote the exchange of professional
knowledge within the Hong Kong shipping industries
-
to recognize the contribution of
professionals within the seatransport community in Hong Kong
-
to provide a forum for Chinese speaking
professionals in the shipping industry.
Functions
The Institute holds seminars regularly and
invites well known people within the local shipping industry to address members.
The Institute also invites other similar organisations to sponsor joint
functions, and participate in conferences. |
